Welcome

‘Waiting for Christmas’ is the seventh in a series of Primary School Christmas Music Projects in aid of Tearfund. Over the last 18 years an experienced and enthusiastic team from Christians Churches in Suffolk have run a series of Schools Charity Christmas Music projects. These projects have involved a large number of children at Primary and Junior Schools across Suffolk singing on a CD and DVD and at concerts. As well as raising almost £100,000 for the charity Tearfund, there has been a fantastic reaction to the projects from those involved. Children, teachers and parents alike have enjoyed the projects and Ofsted inspectors have loved them!

‘Waiting for Christmas’ first took place in Autumn 2012 across mcuh of Suffolk and further afield. It provided a great opportunity for children in the schools involved to participate in a professional musical recording, filming and live concerts. The project is going to be run in other areas across trhe UK in subsequent years - watch this space for details

The key aims of the project are:
• To provide a creative focus of resources for schools leading up to Christmas
• To provide a unifying project for children at primary/junior schools in the area
• To raise awareness of issues of poverty and injustice
• To raise money for charity, particularly for third world children through Tearfund
• To help strengthen links between local Churches and Schools
• To help convey the message of Christmas in a fun way

A massive thank you to all who helped make the Waiting for Christmas premiere in 2012 such a success - we will be anouncing the amount raised in early 2013 so watch this space!
